Job Description
Qualified Social Worker, Senior Social Worker, Stoke on Trent City Council, Children's Assesment Team - Must be a Qualified Social Worker with a minimum of 2 years+ UK Social Worker experience within a Children's Social Work team
Our client is looking for a qualified Social Worker with 2 years+ UK Social Worker experience within a Children’s Social Work team
The team work extremely well together to ensure the safety of children under the close supervision of a supportive Team Manager
The responsibilities will include:
• Ensure that within all cases, but specifically complex situations all eligible children receive good quality, in-depth assessments, robust plans with SMART planning that is appropriate to meet their needs and achieve good outcomes for children
• Support less experienced members of the team and students in learning and developing skills, knowledge and expertise, by providing advice, guidance and mentoring
• Carry out assessments and manage plans of intervention/support/care within government and departmental prescribed timescales and standards, as required by the Practice and/or Principal Manager
• Provide a needs-led, professional social work service to children, young people and their families, complying with legislative requirements and in accordance with established best practice
• Maintain a personal awareness of legislation, national and regional developments and key drives that shape and influence contemporary social work practice
• Ensure that service user records are maintained in accordance with Departmental procedures, and that information required for management purposes is recorded and inputted appropriately
• Liaise with other professionals
• 37 hours per week (flexible by negotiation)
• 3 month Temporary Contract
• Start date subject to DBS and reference clearance

The successful candidate will need to hold a DipSW or equivalent must be registered with the HCPC, have a current DBS and be a car driver.
