An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced healthcare professional to join the Clinical Quality Assurance Team. The team is dedicated to assuring the quality of care of commissioned services across Birmingham and Solihull.
We are looking for a dynamic individual who is enthusiastic, well organised and motivated, with a good knowledge of care delivery for patients with Learning Disabilities and Autism and who has experience in managing and improving the quality of care for patients.
Main duties of the job
As an All Age Continuing Healthcare Clinical Quality Assurance Manager you will undertake a range of key duties to quality and safety for patients under the Continuing Healthcare National Framework.
You will be responsible for leading on a number of CHC Quality Assurance Assessments and risk management for Learning Disability and Autism care providers. Your role includes line‑managing a small number of Band 6 (Clinical Quality Monitoring Officers).
The successful applicant will work closely with colleagues across the pathway to assure the quality of care delivered in nursing care homes and supporting progress through the NHS Birmingham and Solihull ICB, Integrated Quality Assurance Framework.
You will have key relationships with NHS care providers, patients, families, Local Authority partners, Community Clinical Teams and other stakeholders.
Skills needed include effective time management, autonomous working, managing expectations and advanced communication, including having difficult conversations.

Job responsibilities
The Clinical Quality and Assurance Manager will support the ICB to assure and improve the quality of health services across Birmingham and Solihull. The post-holder will work closely with other members of the Quality team, Continuing Healthcare colleagues and Contracting team to assure the ICB of the clinical quality of services within the areas of commissioned health services.
The post-holder will contribute to the delivery of the ICB quality strategy through commissioning for quality assurance programmes and provide clinical quality support.
The post-holder will liaise with providers, other ICBs and functions regarding assurance, compliance and improvements of services utilised by the ICB population. In addition they will work closely with clinical leads and managers within and beyond the Continuing Healthcare team, in order to support the ICB to deliver its statutory duties in relation to quality assurance and improvement.

Education / Training / Qualifications
* Evidence of continued professional development.
* Registered Nurse 1st level or Registered Health Care Professional.
Knowledge and Experience
* Experience working in the NHS
* Experience in reviewing and assuring the quality of patient care.
* Experience of working across multiple organisational and agency boundaries to achieve demonstrable outcomes and improvements in the quality of care/patient experience.
* Knowledge of how to effectively elevate concerns relating to clinical quality, patient safety or patient experience.
Skills / Abilities
* Comprehensive knowledge of possible early warning signs which may indicate a decline in the standards and delivery of clinical quality, patient safety and patient experience.
* Demonstrated capability to act upon incomplete information, using experience to make inferences and decisions.
