VACANCY: Test Lab Team Leader LOCATION: S41, Chesterfield Contract: Permanent ABOUT US: Fusion Group is part of the AVK Group, who are market leaders in the design, manufacture and supply of valves, pipe fittings, hydrants and flow control equipment to the Water, Wastewater, Oil and Gas industries throughout the world. This is a key role within our manufacturing operations, responsible for leading a team of Test Lab Technicians and overseeing the day-to-day running of the test lab. You’ll ensure that all testing is carried out efficiently, accurately, and in line with industry standards, customer requirements, and internal procedures. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES * Conduct and supervise testing of plastic piping systems, including hydrostatic, tensile, and material analysis. * Lead and coordinate the lab team to meet production and customer deadlines. * Maintain compliance with ISO 9001, ISO 29001, and internal quality systems. * Manage lab resources, equipment, and consumables to support production needs. * Ensure the lab is always audit-ready and operates to high standards of safety and housekeeping. * Analyse test data, report results, and support continuous improvement initiatives. WHAT YOU’LL BRING * Experience in a manufacturing or industrial testing environment. * Strong understanding of polyethylene products and jointing techniques. * Supervisory or team leadership experience in a technical setting. * Familiarity with industry standards and test methods. * Qualifications such as IOSH Managing Safely, EUSR Electrofusion and Butt Fusion Welding, or equivalent are desirable. * A practical, problem-solving mindset and a commitment to quality and safety.
