Job Description
We are looking for a Wine & Spirits Manager to join our leadership team and help shape the customer experience across our wine, spirits and cafe spaces. This is a hands-on, floor-focused role for someone who enjoys engaging with customers, hosting tastings, and creating a welcoming, energetic environment. As part of a small management team, you’ll lead by example: driving sales, supporting the team, and contributing to the overall success of the business. The ideal candidate is comfortable recommending a bottle, guiding a customer through our spirits collection, leading an evening class, or stepping into busy service moments at our cafe / wine bar. This is a great opportunity for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and who is looking to grow into a broader leadership role in wine and hospitality.
Responsibilities include:
1. Customer Experience & Sales: Be a strong presence on the floor, engaging customers and driving wine and spirits sales daily. Provide thoughtful, approachable recommendations and build relationships with repeat customers.
2. “Wine Bar” Service & Execution: Help execute and evolve our by-the-glass wine program and overall in-store experience.
3. Events & Programming: Support and grow our in-store tastings, classes, and private events, including hosting events
4. Wine & Spirits Selection: Support wine buying, inventory, and merchandising in partnership with ownership
5. Monthly Wine Club: Help grow the wine club program by engaging customers and supporting wine selection
6. Team Development: Train and support staff to build confidence selling wine and spirits
7. Merchandising & Operations: Contribute to in-store displays and seasonal features
8. Leadership: Partner with the management team to drive overall store performance.
Key Skills Required:
9. Passion for wine and spirits, with a strong understanding of wine culture, trends, and products (specifically Europe & USA)
10. 2-4 years of experience in wine retail, hospitality or a restaurant / beverage program
11. Naturally engaging & eager to learn about spirits and beverage program development
12. Organized and reliable, with the ability to manage multiple responsibilities
13. Comfortable working in a fast-paced, customer-facing environment
14. Interested in growing into a broader leadership role over time
15. Wine certification(s) preferred but not required
Benefits:
16. Salary: $55,000 – $65,000 (depending on experience) plus performance-based bonus (target ~15%) tied to departmental gross margin, event success, and overall business performance
17. Store discount
18. Paid time off and sick days
19. Health insurance stipend
