Job Purpose The Head of Solutions is a new role responsible for building and leading IMS's Solutions function from the ground up. Initially operating as an individual contributor, this role will establish foundational processes, systems, and standards before developing the function into a scalable team over time. This role serves as the critical interface between commercial and technical sides of the business, ensuring sales teams can confidently sell what IMS offers while channelling customer needs and market feedback into the product function. The Head of Solutions owns the accuracy of all customer-facing technical content, sales materials, and integration documentation. The ideal candidate will develop a strategic plan to build the Solutions function, execute that strategy hands-on initially, then gradually scale through team development as the business grows. Key Responsibilities Solutions Function Strategy & Development Develop and execute a strategic plan to build the Solutions function from startup to scaled operation Establish foundational processes, systems, and quality standards for solutions delivery Identify and prioritize capability gaps, building the business case for team expansion over time Define future team structure and roles (Solutions Architects, Technical Writers, etc.) as the function matures Initially operate hands-on across all areas while establishing scalable frameworks Commercial-Technical Bridge Act as primary interface between commercial (Sales, Account Management) and technical (Product, Engineering) teams Communicate product development updates and roadmap changes to commercial teams in business terms Collate and feed customer requirements, feature requests, and market needs into Product and Engineering Translate technical capabilities into commercial value propositions and vice versa Sales Enablement & Product Accuracy Ensure sales and account managers understand IMS product capabilities and limitations—preventing overselling Train commercial teams on what products can and cannot do Develop and maintain sales collateral that accurately reflects current product functionality Act as gatekeeper for product claims in all customer-facing materials Provide technical support during sales engagements Technical Documentation & Content Own and maintain all customer-facing integration guides, ensuring accuracy and currency Ensure all sales collateral aligns with actual product capabilities Create and update technical documentation, implementation guides, and API documentation Establish quality control processes and audit existing materials regularly Solution Design & Architecture Develop solution architectures and configurations based on actual product capabilities Work with Product and Engineering to design tailored customer solutions Lead technical customer discussions, setting realistic expectations Support customer implementations ensuring seamless integration Market & Product Insights Monitor competitive landscape and industry trends Gather customer feedback and implementation insights to inform product strategy Provide actionable feedback to Product and Engineering teams Optimize solution design processes for improved delivery Essential Qualifications & Experience 10 years in product solutions, technical consulting, or solution architecture Proven experience building and scaling functions from scratch in B2B tech companies Track record developing operational processes and establishing quality standards Strong understanding of B2B SaaS, telematics, mobility, or insurance technology Demonstrated ability to bridge commercial and technical teams effectively Experience creating accurate technical documentation and sales materials Track record training sales teams on technical capabilities and limitations Experience with API-driven products and cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) Comfortable working hands-on initially while planning for future scale Excellent stakeholder engagement and strategic thinking skills Meticulous attention to detail with commitment to accuracy Bonus Qualifications Experience in telematics, mobility, AI, or IoT applications Previous experience building Solutions, Product Marketing, or Technical Writing teams Strong presentation skills for C-level audiences Background in technical writing or documentation management Experience in fast-paced, high-growth technology environments Track record recruiting and developing technical talent Other Information Initial priority: Develop 90-day plan to establish Solutions function foundations and longer-term scaling strategy Hybrid role with occasional in-office presence for planning and customer engagements Regular travel for IMS internal meetings, customer meetings and industry events Availability for technical escalations and executive briefings Role will evolve from individual contributor to leader as function scales
