£450-£500 Weekly Pay (PAYE – No Umbrella Company)
New Directions are currently recruiting for a Special Needs Learning Support Assistant to work in the nurture base in a fantastic Trafford based primary school. This opportunity is ideal for someone who lives in Irlam, Cadishead or can access easily by car or public transport.
The School:
1. A small, community-focused primary school in Irlam serving children aged 3–11, with an inclusive and supportive learning environment.
2. Emphasises strong academic foundations alongside personal development, encouraging independence, resilience, and positive behaviour.
3. Provides a broad curriculum with additional activities designed to support pupils’ social, emotional, and educational growth.
The Role:
4. Full-time pupil support role providing targeted support to children within Key Stage 1 (Years 1 and 2), assisting with both academic and emotional development
5. Use augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) tools like PECs, Makaton, or communication boards for non-verbal or minimally verbal pupils.
6. Support sensory regulation needs, including guiding pupils through sensory circuits, using sensory rooms, or implementing sensory breaks as advised by OT specialists.
The Candidate:
7. Holding a Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent) is desirable but not essential.
8. Experience working with children in a classroom setting is preferred; however, we also welcome applications from individuals with backgrounds in care, support work, sports coaching, or psychology.
