The Vacancy
Job Purpose: To be the technical specialist for designated stores responsible for undertaking first call response to Fire, CCTV, EAS, Access Control, PA, Automatic Pedestrian Gates.
Key Accountabilities:
1. Undertake maintenance and repairs in accordance with KPI’s set by the customer, including response, repair, first fix, and closure.
2. Ensure all planned, reactive, and statutory works for CCTV engineers are carried out according to contractual obligations as outlined in the City FM Bookcase.
3. Complete PPM works within agreed timescales, ensuring all paperwork is accurately completed following laid-down procedures and standards.
4. Respond promptly to service call requests during normal hours and when on call, with out-of-hours issues referred to the specialist.
5. Identify non-repairable faults and propose corrective actions.
6. Order parts as required, ensure prompt fitting upon delivery, and chase outstanding parts not delivered within 5 days.
7. Complete all necessary paperwork to measure service performance and undertake surveys as requested.
8. Regularly communicate with the Duty Manager during store visits to advise on repair and maintenance issues.
9. Ensure all tools and equipment are available and in good condition.
10. Carry out Fire PPM visits to BS5839 and report defects as necessary.
11. Ensure Fire alarm systems comply with BS 5839 and report any defects.
12. Proficient in written and verbal communication, report writing, and recording procedures.
13. Stay aware of relevant regulations and codes of practice.
14. Notify the helpdesk of procedural task conditions upon work completion.
15. Carry out surveys and complete reports as instructed.
16. Complete all work to high standards efficiently and cost-effectively, complying with Health and Safety policies.
17. Complete tasks within the allotted time to the satisfaction of the company and client.
18. Attend training courses as necessary to keep skills up-to-date.
19. Ensure all mandatory online training modules are completed.
20. Comply with the Health and Safety at Work Act and company policies.
21. Work collaboratively with colleagues to maintain quality standards.
22. Represent the company professionally and develop good relationships with clients and partners.
23. Follow any other reasonable instructions from the City Management Team.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
* GCSE standard
* Electrical Competency Qualification (NVQ/City & Guilds)
* PC literate
* Ability to maintain and repair Fire, CCTV, and EAS systems (Sensormatic)
* Ability to work independently
* Good communication skills
* Helpful and friendly manner
* Self-motivated
* Ability to work at heights
* IPAF license holder
* Competent in using steps and ladders
* Current driving license
* Ability to distinguish colors for electrical/electronic maintenance
* Willing to work flexible hours
