Senior / Principal Geotechnical Engineer (Chartered)
Manchester
Up to £60,000 base + package
I’m seeking a Chartered Senior / Principal Geotechnical Engineer ready to take real ownership of complex infrastructure design. This is not just a technical role — you’ll manage the day-to-day delivery of design packages, lead coordination, review and check designs, reporting to the Project Director and Technical Reviewer.
You’ll work across carbon capture pipelines, trenchless crossings, geohazard assessments, temporary works, water infrastructure, and major tunnelling schemes.
We operate as complete engineers — delivering geotechnical, civil, and structural scopes end-to-end. Expect technically challenging, higher-risk projects, direct contractor engagement and real-time problem solving. You’ll manage risk portfolios and lead from the front on nationally significant schemes.
About you:
* Chartered (CEng) with a Civil Engineering Masters
* Strong consultancy design background
* Proven experience delivering and reviewing design packages
* Tunnelling experience desirable
* Comfortable with responsibility and thrives under pressure
