ROLE OVERVIEW
We are seeking a strategic, collaborative and creative communicator to
support the Buxton Crescent Heritage Trust, engage and grow target audiences
and develop our messaging, content and brand.
As Communications and Marketing Manager, you will promote the Trust,
its Visitor Centre, its exhibitions, activities and products to target audiences,
partners and stakeholders. You will work with the CEO, colleagues and the
Board of Trustees, to find and build sustainable relationships with audiences,
visitors, participants, supporters and stakeholders, devising engaging campaigns
using data to grow engagement and revenue. You will curate and amplify
content that champions Buxton's famous Crescent and Pump Rooms, whilst
positioning us as the 'go to' heritage organisation in Buxton. You will develop
our visual identity and tone of voice to be distinctive, enticing and relevant, and
help monetise the brand through licensing and retail.
You'll be a great collaborator, confident public speaker, bringing experience
of successful communications campaigns and deep commitment to the
growth and diversity of heritage audiences, underpinned by a rigorous, analytical
approach and a keen eye for effective design and copy.

This is a senior role within the Trusts management team. Reporting to the CEO you will
be a vital part of the staff team working together to deliver the Trust's objectives and
helping ensure it meets its charitable and financial objectives.
Key responsibilities
* Review and assess current marketing activity
* Develop and deliver a 2- year Strategic Marketing Plan for BCHT within budget
* guidelines
* Support colleagues by the promotion of Trust activities
* Keep the website up to date and relevant
* Devise and deliver a digital marketing action plan
* Produce marketing material to promote Visitor Experience / Pump Room /Events
* and public facing services
* Devise and distribute press releases and engage where possible radio and tv
* Explore and deliver joint marketing initiatives with partner organisations in the town
The post will engage with the following:
Digital Services and Delivery – This post will oversee the Trust's website, its marketing
and communications and social media activity primarily using digital channels.
Branding – the post provides an opportunity to create a new brand for The Pump
Room, Crescent Experience, events and education programme. This will involve
updating the existing website, as well as creating updated brand guidelines and
templates for all staff to utilise.

General duties
Reporting to the CEO you will be a vital part of the staff team working together to
deliver the Trust's objectives and helping ensure it meets its charitable and financial
objectives.
To take every opportunity, where practicable and appropriate, to use information
and communication technology to improve service delivery and efficiency.
To carry out the above duties and responsibilities in accordance with written
arrangements for health and safety and any safe systems of work identified by risk
assessments.
To always ensure confidentiality in all matters relating to the work of the Trust and
delivery of the tourist information service.
To support the Trust's commitment to good environmental eco-management by
ensuring the most environmentally friendly use of resources Role Details This is a
senior role within the Trusts management team.

reliability and having respect for all those for whom the service is being provided,
including colleagues.
To work flexibly in support of colleagues and to undertake any other duties which
may reasonably be requested commensurate with the grade for the post.
The work may require attendance at times other than during normal opening hours
(9.30 to 17.30 peak season). The hours include working weekends and on Bank
Holidays to support a flexible rota. This is an integral part of the job and will not attract
additional payment. Where more than an average 28 hours a week is worked, time off
in lieu will be granted as workload permits.
