Main duties of the job
The Deputy Director of Operations is a key position within the Trust's senior management structure. In conjunction with the Director of Operations, you will lead, manage, and deliver the programme of work. You will contribute to the Trust's leadership and be responsible for achieving service, quality, financial, and other performance targets set by the Director of Operations and the Chief Operating Officer. You will ensure your team delivers the Trust's development, leadership, communication plans, and objectives. Additionally, you will be responsible for service, workforce, and financial planning within your relevant services, collaborating with other managers and clinicians to support Trust-wide goals. You will be accountable for delivering the Trust's Values and Behaviours, strategic direction, and business objectives. You should have experience leading complex change and service improvement, demonstrating a proven track record of delivery and management within a complex organisation. A strong, positive leadership style that positively impacts patients and staff is essential.
You will participate in the senior manager on-call rota and contribute to strategic and operational decision-making. Therefore, confidence and excellent communication skills at all levels, aligned with Trust values and behaviours, are required.
The successful candidate will have substantial senior NHS management experience, ensuring the safe and effective delivery of services. Familiarity with national key indicators and the ability to support their positive delivery are important.
You should possess influencing and information management skills to handle complex scenarios. Collaboration and the ability to work across organisational boundaries with partners to influence local strategy are crucial.
