Purpose of the role: We are looking for a Junior Designer to join the business and support the design team in the creation of technical drawings/CADs, presentation decks and product design support.
Responsibilities
* Support and assist the design of the collections within the Ben Sherman design team across all categories.
* Prepare presentation boards for range reviews and buyer/product meetings; create presentation materials for product range sign‑off meetings.
* Manage reference samples, fabric swatches, sketches and Pantones during design meetings.
* Create flat technical sketches and packs for design development packs.
* Maintain and manage all information related to design development.
* Develop and update seasonal colour range boards, staying aware of market colour direction and internal brand colour stories.
* Research and source specific fabrics, yarns, and jerseys for each season, working with the sourcing team and suppliers.
* Select fabric, trims, materials and colours for each style that fit the mood board direction and create style plans.
* Update all VRPs and CADs for the design team.
Key Skills/Experience
* Junior Designer level experience for lifestyle fashion brands.
* Excellent illustrator skills and proficiency in Mac operation, Excel, Adobe Photoshop and Adobe CC.
* Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to adapt presentations for relevant audiences.
* Understanding of brand strategies and ability to work in a collaborative environment.
* Strong design and conceptual skills.
* Strong colour sense and print sense.
* Ability to quickly understand the target customer and design to a brief.
* Ability to analyse data/situations and draw relevant conclusions to positively impact business in a complex environment.
* Detail‑oriented with excellent time management and organisational skills.
* Ability to multi‑task, problem‑solve, and think outside the box in a fast‑paced environment.
