Job Title: Junior Electronic Design Engineer Location: Cheshire Salary: Up to £30k Benefits (25 days leave, matched pension, healthcare) We’re supporting a technical consultancy working in advanced R&D. They are seeking a Junior Electronic Design Engineer to support the development, testing, and setup of bespoke electronic systems and test rigs. If you enjoy working with PCBs, fault-finding, and building or modifying electronics in the lab, this could be the ideal stepping stone role. What You’ll Be Doing: * Supporting design and test of electronic equipment used in extreme environments * Building and modifying PCBs, signal boxes, and wiring harnesses * Working from circuit diagrams to assemble and fault-find systems * Supporting instrumentation setups (motors, transducers, sensors) * Keeping the calibration register and documentation accurate and up to date * Collaborating in a small, focused technical team with strong mentorship What You’ll Bring: * HNC, Diploma, apprenticeship or equivalent in Electronics or Electrical Engineering * Soldering, crimping and diagnostic experience (either professional or hobbyist) * Knowledge of test equipment such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, etc. * Comfortable reading and working from schematics * Willingness to take ownership of tasks and learn from experienced team members This is a rare opportunity to grow your electronics design skills while working on genuinely interesting engineering challenges in a supportive and well-respected organisation.
