Summary
As the Inspection Engineer you are required to physically inspect, assess, and report on the condition of pressurised piping and other equipment where required. Acting as the ‘competent person’ as defined in the Pressure Systems Safety Regulations 2000, the role includes evaluating equipment condition and determining the suitability for continued service. All inspections are carried in accordance with company and client procedures, site standards and international design codes to comply with UK legislation.
Overview of Responsibilities
1. To act on behalf of the client as a competent person carrying out mechanical pressure system inspections, if required, in compliance with both legal and company standards.
2. Carry out Corrosion loop inspections, preparing work packs, input data into Sharepoint and update registers.
3. Review piping work packs and line walk where necessary to identify and prepare for inspections and NDT activities.
4. Prepare piping inspection reports stating the as found condition of equipment including recommendations of future inspection intervals.
5. Create CAIRS and submit repair recommendations to Area Inspectors and the client.
6. Raise SAP notifications in respect to job planning, required resourcing and manhours.
