About The Role
Reporting to the Service Team Leader, you will help deliver a professional and accurate Plan Finance service for the Royal Mail Collective Pension Plan, aligned with legislation, service contracts and agreed processes. You'll bring strong technical finance capability and an understanding of Royal Mail and UK pensions.
You will also:
Support review and sign‑off monthly financial statements, reconciliations, payments and reports
Assist with planning workloads to meet contractual and SLA requirements
Work with Finance, Payroll and Pensions teams to complete internal and external audits
Provide technical guidance on Finance matters, Plan rules and statutory requirements
Resolve complex cases and coach colleagues to build capability
Identify and drive improvements to processes and the member experience
Act as an escalation point for complex queries and complaints
Ensure compliance with all relevant finance and pensions procedures
About You
You will be an experienced finance professional with:
Strong knowledge of financial reporting, internal and external audit processes, and HMRC rules
Confident influencing skills and the ability to build effective relationships with stakeholders at all levels
Clear and articulate written and verbal communication skills
Proven planning and organisational ability, with experience delivering high quality work to tight and competing deadlines
A commitment to professional development, including a willingness to work towards a finance qualification (minimum AAT Level 3, ideally progressing to Level 4)
Desirable knowledge of UK pensions particularly CDC, DB and Career Average scheme
