Overview
This post involves working as part of a team of doctors covering the specialties of Obstetrics & Gynaecology. Opportunities are available to attend day surgery and main theatre lists as well as working in Gynaecology emergency inpatients, labour ward and our post-natal ward.
During duty, the post holder has clinical and professional responsibility for their patients and must keep patients (and/or their carers as appropriate) informed about their condition and involve patients and/or their carers in decisions about their treatment where appropriate. The post holder must maintain professional standards and obligations as set out by the General Medical Council, in particular the GMC guidance on Good Medical Practice.
The post holder will be responsible for carrying out work related to and reasonably incidental to the duties in their Job Description, including the keeping of records and provision of reports, proper delegation of tasks, and maintaining skills and knowledge.
Responsibilities
* Keep patients (and/or their carers as appropriate) informed about their condition.
* Involve patients and/or their carers if appropriate in decision making about their treatment.
