Overview
Walfinch Norwich is seeking a Nurse Lead to oversee, support and manage a 24/7 Complex Nursing Care package in Halesworth IP19. The role involves supervising the nursing team, coordinating care, and ensuring high clinical standards.
Responsibilities
* Support and supervise the nursing team with day-to-day duties for the client.
* Be available for on-call duties to ensure 24/7 nursing care is delivered effectively.
* Assess clients’ health needs and develop personalised care plans.
* Safely administer medications in line with policies and guidelines.
* Carry out clinical procedures (e.g., wound care, blood pressure monitoring, chronic condition management).
* Supervise and support care workers to reflect clinical standards in day-to-day care.
* Maintain accurate, detailed, and up-to-date records of visits and clinical activity.
* Liaise with other professionals (GPs, therapists, social services) to coordinate care.
* Provide advice and support to clients and their families about health and condition management.
* Ensure compliance with NMC standards and CQC regulations.
* Monitor and respond to health concerns or changes in clients’ conditions.
* Support the training and ongoing development of care staff.
This role may require not being with the client on every shift; however, strong involvement and the ability to cover full care duties when needed is essential.
Role Requirements
* Current registration with the NMC as a Registered Nurse (RGN / RMN / RNLD).
* Experience in community nursing, domiciliary care, or a similar clinical setting.
* Strong assessment and clinical decision-making skills.
* Excellent communication skills with clients, families, and professional teams.
* Compassionate, respectful, and person-centred approach to care.
* Flexibility to travel between clients’ homes and work varied hours.
* Understanding of health & safety, safeguarding adults, and confidentiality requirements.
* Experience with tracheostomy, suction and ventilator care; training will be provided if needed.
Maintaining Professional Communications
* Represent the company professionally in all communications.
* Keep the Registered Manager informed of urgent matters.
* Produce reports as required by the Registered Manager and franchisee.
* Maintain accurate records within role scope.
* Communicate calmly and professionally with clients and representatives.
* Discuss care and support with clients and their representatives, considering different communication needs.
* Monitor workplace health and safety and lead infection prevention and control.
* Be flexible to ensure the safe delivery of the service.
* Promote clients’ rights and keep their wishes at the centre of care and support.
* Oversee writing of individually tailored care and support plans with clients and representatives.
* Attend external meetings and represent the service positively.
* Collaborate with the Walfinch team and maintain current records.
About The Role
Pay rate: £27.00 per hour. The client is paraplegic with a tracheostomy requiring 24-hour care from an RGN and a Complex HCA. Experience with tracheostomy care is needed; full refresher training will be provided along with other relevant training for this package.
Your role as Nurse Lead will be to oversee and supervise the team providing care and to be available to assist and take over at short notice following an on-call rota to ensure nursing care is provided 24/7.
