Come and join our 4,700 Sq. metre world class Repair, Manufacturing and Distribution centre based at Fulwood, Preston. As Supervisor Operations, you will be managing employees and contract workers in operational area, making sure the progress of team is being monitored, any issues and escalations are dealt with, and you report any progress, wins and risks to the management. Responsibilities: - Manages employees and / or contract workers in an operational area. Is directly responsible for the hiring, onboarding, training, performance and engagement of the staff. - Assigns daily work, monitors progress, engages to resolve obstacles to ensure KPI's are met. - Collaborates with peers across functions to support optimised performance across the site / business - Intentionally engages to drive a culture of belonging, development, safety, continuous improvement and high performance - Models Zebra's culture and values for the teams they lead. - Compiles and analyses operational data. Prepares reports for leadership that include proposals to address performance gaps in the team. - Evaluates performance of their team and provides coaching and feedback to support success. - Conducts performance appraisals and merit reviews for direct reports in alignment with Zebra's philosophies and practices. - Partners with Human Resources to recommend personnel actions such as promotions, transfers, discharges and discipline. - Participates or leads projects as assigned. - Performs other duties as assigned. Qualifications: - Ability to plan and coordinate production activities under pressure - Strong communication skills and the ability to influence and motivate people around you - Radius system knowledge (desirable) - Oracle internal ordering and receipting - Smart Sheet Knowledge - Minimum 3 years Warehouse Supervisor level e xperience essential - Maths and English GCSE/Functional Skills - Highly numerate with good understanding of written and spoken English - Punctual and reliable - Knowledgeable in people management practices including investigations, disciplinary procedure, and performance management and recruitment & selection processes - IT literate, Word, Excel, Outlook You'll will also need to be able to: - Stand, walk, push, pull, squat, bend, and reach during shifts - Use trolleys or hand trucks to move items around - Go up and down stairs (where applicable) - Complete overtime to help the team cover holidays and other instances What it's like at Zebra Technologies Preston - Safety: Your safety is important to us, so we provide all the training and PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) specific to your role. - Surroundings: You will be working within a friendly supportive and helpful environment - Dress code: All uniform is provided on your first week, this includes trousers, tops, hoody and/or jumper and Jacket.
