About the Role As a Claims Specialist you will be responsible for maintaining Swiss Re’s risk profitability through sound claims management decisions and customer service excellence. Main Duties: Proactively and appropriately handle a portfolio of new and existing claims. Provide excellent customer service to clients and claimants demonstrating strong verbal and written communication skills. Provide technically accurate claims management decisions whilst applying the appropriate balance of service and risk management. Supervise the claims' portfolio ensuring that all claims are reviewed appropriately, and outstanding requirements are followed up. Support the business by providing quality claims input and promote technical expertise eg. participation in claim seminars, training and audits. Contribute to business projects and initiatives ensuring relevant claims issues are considered in broader based company activities. About You We seek a collaborative, empathetic, and open-minded team member who can actively participate in constructive dialogues, even amidst challenges. Success in this role requires meticulous attention to detail and excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving abilities. Are you someone who embodies a proactive "self-starter" mentality, with a positive 'CAN DO' attitude, ready to take initiative and drive results-oriented actions with: At least 2 years' experience in the insurance industry and an income protection claims assessment role preferred. Medical, occupation, avocation and financial technical knowledge relevant to claims assessment highly desirable. Good knowledge of excel, data analytics and management information reporting highly desirable Solid understanding of the UK regulatory environment to include but not limited to: FCA and FOS is a plus.
