This is an excellent opportunity to work within a rural authority, supporting children and families to achieve positive and sustainable outcomes. You will play a key role in delivering high-quality statutory social work services, ensuring children are safeguarded and supported within their families and communities wherever possible. Key Responsibilities Manage a caseload of children and families in line with statutory responsibilities Undertake Child and Family Assessments and risk assessments Develop and review care and support plans Carry out safeguarding interventions and child protection work Work collaboratively with multi-agency partners Prepare reports for meetings, reviews, and court proceedings where required Maintain accurate and up-to-date case records Promote the voice and lived experience of children in all planning About You Qualified Social Worker (Degree/DipSW/CQSW or equivalent) Registered with Social Care Wales (or eligible) Experience within Children's Social Care services Strong assessment, analytical, and communication skills Ability to manage a varied caseload in a rural setting Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle (essential due to the rural nature of Powys) Working in Powys Powys is a large, rural county, and this role offers a unique opportunity to work closely with communities across South Powys. Due to limited public transport, travel is an essential part of the role.
