Introduction
Do you want to make a difference to the health and wellbeing of your community? The Talk Community Healthy Lifestyle Team provides integrated behavioural support for smoking cessation, weight management, alcohol reduction, physical activity, and sustainable behaviour change. You will be the first point of contact for clients, health professionals and partners, making a real difference every day.
Role
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Healthy Lifestyle Service Navigator to join our team.
What you will be doing
* Be the welcoming first point of contact for clients, handling enquiries by phone, email and face‑to‑face.
* Process incoming referrals and manage confidential client records.
* Schedule appointments and support the day‑to‑day coordination of the service.
* Deliver evidence‑based Very Brief Advice (VBA) to help people understand their support options.
* Support Health Trainers with group sessions, materials and venue bookings.
* Assist with monitoring, data collection and report preparation.
* Organise meetings, take minutes and coordinate follow‑up actions.
* Help with events, outreach activities and community engagement.
* Maintain stocks of leaflets, resources and materials.
* Process purchase orders, invoices and basic financial tasks in line with council policy.
* Carry out general administrative duties including word processing, Excel‑based data entry, scanning and filing.
* Ensure compliance with data protection and safeguarding procedures.
About You
* Passionate about leading a healthy lifestyle.
* Able to take initiative and enjoys keeping things running smoothly.
* Experienced in administration, customer service or business support.
* Competent IT and health literacy skills.
* Confident communicating with a wide range of people.
* Organised, able to manage competing priorities and pay close attention to detail.
* Works well both independently and as part of a team.
* Proactive, flexible and able to adapt to changing service needs.
* Passionate about supporting people to improve their health and wellbeing.
* Can occasionally support events outside normal office hours.
