About The Role
Our Dementia Friends programme raises essential awareness of dementia, and we need you to help make it happen!
As a Dementia Friends Ambassador, you will change attitudes about dementia by delivering Dementia Friends Sessions and engaging with the public regularly. You will be a local representative, raising awareness of the Alzheimer’s Society's work, ensuring those affected by dementia are aware of the vital information and support available, and informing individuals and businesses about how they can support us.
Your activities may include distributing leaflets, encouraging the public to access our services, attending local events and talks, and participating in other activities such as supporting fundraising events, sharing social media posts, or displaying posters.
This role specifically supports the Norfolk area. Volunteers will need to complete six hours of training: one hour of e-learning and a five-hour interactive online session. The upcoming training sessions are:
* Saturday, 17th May, 10 am - 3 pm
* Wednesday, 18th June, 10 am - 3 pm
* Wednesday, 9th / Thursday, 10th July, 6 pm - 9 pm
