Job Overview
We are seeking a highly experienced Senior EICA Design Engineer to lead electrical, instrumentation, control, and automation design efforts for water and wastewater treatment projects. The role involves ensuring compliance with industry standards, collaborating across disciplines, and providing technical guidance throughout project lifecycle stages.
Key Responsibilities
1. Lead the EICA design process, integrating with civil, mechanical, and process engineering elements.
2. Develop and produce detailed electrical, instrumentation, control, and automation designs, including SLDs, BCDs, Load Schedules, Systems Architecture, Cable Calculations, I/O schedules, and datasheets.
3. Ensure designs meet technical standards, safety codes, and industry regulations, emphasizing electrical safety and automation security.
4. Manage control strategies development for water treatment processes, ensuring system functionality.
5. Coordinate with project teams to align EICA designs with project objectives and other engineering disciplines.
6. Review EICA designs and drawings for accuracy and compliance.
7. Support construction, commissioning, and handover phases, ensuring proper installation, testing, and operation of EICA systems.
8. Create functional specifications and technical documentation.
9. Assist in vendor evaluations and selection for electrical and control equipment.
10. Engage with clients, contractors, and regulatory bodies to ensure compliance.
11. Stay updated on technological advancements and industry best practices.
12. Mentor junior engineers and team members, fostering technical growth.
Qualifications and Experience
* 7-10+ years of EICA design engineering experience, preferably in water or wastewater treatment industries.
* Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Control Systems Engineering, or related field; Master’s preferred.
* Chartered Engineer (CEng) status or working towards it.
* Strong knowledge of control system architectures, PLCs, SCADA, and instrumentation.
* Experience with full project lifecycle from concept to commissioning.
* Proficiency in electrical design software, SCADA, PLCs, and automation systems.
* Understanding of relevant safety standards, regulations, and industry codes.
* Familiarity with BIM and digital design tools is advantageous.
