Our Birmingham corporate tax team is looking for an Assistant Manager. You will join our growing team and facilitate the continued growth of the tax practice across the Midlands, with a particular focus on the mid-market and OMBs. Role Overview
As an Assistant Manager within our private capital corporate tax team, you will:
1. Manage a portfolio of clients, including owner-managed businesses, private equity-backed, and large groups, supporting them on their corporation tax affairs. This includes annual corporation tax work, specialist claims, and tax advisory projects such as project financing and transactions.
2. Supervise and review work prepared by junior team members, and report directly to Partners and Directors.
3. Deliver corporate tax compliance services, oversee your client portfolio, liaise with audit colleagues and other teams, and become the main point of contact for your clients. You will also coach junior staff, seek new business opportunities, and participate in pitches and proposals.
4. Organize the delivery of tax work, solve problems proactively, and build your internal and external network, enhancing your communication skills and collaboration.
Candidate Profile
We seek ambitious, driven individuals who can adapt to changing markets and are curious to learn. Minimum requirements include:
* Qualified (CA, ATT, CTA) with corporate tax experience.
* Strong knowledge of UK corporation tax legislation and international tax concepts.
* Experience supervising staff and reviewing work in a tax environment.
* Experience managing corporation tax compliance portfolios and tax accounting or audit of tax.
* Excellent communication skills and a flexible approach to meet deadlines.
