Therapy Outpatient Booking Co-ordinator

The closing date is 22 October 2025

We are looking for an experienced Therapy Outpatient Booking Co-ordinator to join our busy Therapies Stats Team to ensure that referrals for therapy outpatient appointments are processed in line with our response standards and patients are booked in according to their clinical needs. The role requires accurate and efficient data entry on to Cerner, and an awareness of reporting requirements and deadlines.


Main duties

You should be able to work as part of a very busy team and under your own initiative. As well as having excellent communication, organisational, prioritisation and interpersonal skills, you will need to be flexible and adaptable, have an appreciation of the confidential nature of the work and be able to manage a workload to meet pre-determined deadlines. You should have a pleasant telephone manner and be able to deal with difficult calls if necessary.

Experience of using Cerner is essential.

Person Specification


Education/ Qualifications

* 5 GCSEs, graded at C or above, or equivalent.
* Educated to A-level/NVQ level 3
* Knowledge of data entry and associated software acquired via diploma or equivalent experience/ qualification


Knowledge & Experience

* Knowledge and skills using Cerner
* Previous NHS Experience
* Extensive experience of Microsoft Office applications and database software
* Experience of working in busy office environment
* Experience in maintaining and updating databases
* Accurate data entry and keyboard skills
* Experience of organizing and prioritizing own workload
* Experience in a patient focused or customer service role, preferably within health or social care


Skills, Abilities & Attributes

* Excellent interpersonal skills, including verbal and written communication and excellent telephone manner
* Good planning/ time management with the ability to work to deadlines under pressure and multitask
* Numerate, with experience in using manual and computerised data collection systems and demonstrating proficient keyboard/ data entry skills
* Able to work without supervision
* Able to work as part of a team and support colleagues
* Able to work at a computer for prolonged periods of time
* Excellent attention to detail
