Company: Marsh Description: We are seeking a talented individual to join our Translations team at Marsh. This role will be based in London. Please note this is a part-time role to cover a maternity leave (potentially up to 8 months). The working pattern will be 21 hours per week across 3 consecutive days, two of which can be based from home with one day per week in the London office. We will count on you to: Translate accurately into English from at least two of the following: French, German or Spanish and preferably at least one of the following: French, German, Spanish, Italian, Portuguese or Dutch. Check other people’s work Liaise with agencies as appropriate Assist with "on the department" training where necessary Keep resources up to date Additional duties may include: processing invoice payments and recharges, maintaining Translation Memory (Wordfast Pro) Professional Development e.g. undertaking in-house training courses as appropriate What you need to have: Ability to manage own work in consultation with Translations Manager French, German and/or Spanish Ability to set and work to deadlines Ability to work as part of a team Professional qualifications: IoL Dip Trans or MA in Translation or primary modern languages degree must have a significant translations element or equivalent experience Must display an aptitude to learn and be willing to study for professional insurance qualification if required What makes you stand out: Translation experience Knowledge of insurance/reinsurance industry or technical writing The ability to remain calm under pressure and be able to work flexibly when required What qualifications are preferred but not required?
