Please note You must be able to commit to the following shift pattern:
2 shift rotation: 6am – 2.30pm / 1.30pm – 10pm Monday to Friday. 40 hours per week
Call out between 10pm – 6am Monday to Friday and Weekends (48 hours) on a 4-weekly rota).

VEKA Recycling is an industry leader in recycling 'end of life' uPVC windows and doors, offering a reliable, cost-effective and long-term service that you can depend on. We work with window fabricators and installers, as well as waste companies throughout the UK to ensure that valuable uPVC material is not lost to landfill.

We use our innovative recycling process to close the loop on uPVC recycling. This means that old windows and doors can be recycled and extruded into new windows and doors that boast the same standard of quality as the ones previous.

We are committed to the sustainability of our environment. We have worked meticulously to ensure that every stage of our closed loop process is an environmentally friendly as possible. This is what separates VEKA from the competition.

Job Summary
Ensure that production operations maximise output and minimise downtime safely through regular planned maintenance.
Optimise the performance and lifecycle of operational equipment with regular preventative maintenance, working with the Production team, to identify and understand causes of equipment wear and underperformance.
Respond to unplanned breakdowns in a timely and effective manner, working alongside engineering and production colleagues minimise disruption.

Duties
Carry out all work according to Safe Systems of Work, Risk Assessments, SOPs, Dynamic Risk Assessments and company policies and procedures.
Minimise production downtime, by carrying out routine scheduled maintenance [PPMs], and responding to unplanned breakdowns within the stipulated time frames.
Diagnose and repair equipment breakdowns – with a right first-time outlook.
Maintain manual and electronic record systems.
Ensure breakdown repairs are validated by engineering supervision and production team.
Maintain a safe and tidy workshop. Ensure parts are booked out correctly to help control stock levels in stores.
Participate in emergency call out arrangements and provide cover where necessary during sickness absence periods.

Requirements
Experience: working with production process machinery, e.g. granulators, belt conveyors, hammermills, extrusion machines, colour separators, gearboxes, bearings, rollers, shafts etc.
To diagnose faults and to test, repair and maintain technical equipment.
Able to read and understand technical drawings.
Passionate about continuous improvement.
Enjoy problem solving and solutions focused.
Excellent Team player.
Self-starter who likes to take proactive initiative
PC based software packages
Excellent timekeeping and attendance
Flexible approach to shift working
Positive attitude
