Job Description: Snow Removal Equipment Operator
Reports to: Area Supervisor
Job Summary
Reporting to the Area Supervisor and Snow Operations Managers, the Snow Removal Operator is responsible for operating heavy equipment to lift, push, and move snow to designated areas or into trucks for removal.
This position requires working on an on-call basis with irregular hours from mid-November to the end of March. Applicants must be available to work at short notice, day or night, using various tools and equipment.
*Candidates must demonstrate competency in equipment operation at the interview and provide relevant records or references.
Responsibilities & Accountabilities
1. Be on-call/standby 24/7 for snow and ice events.
2. Operate heavy equipment to lift, push, and move snow as per site maps and designated areas.
3. Follow established routes and schedules for efficient snow removal.
4. Pile snow only in approved areas.
5. Operate vehicles and snowplows safely, responsibly, and efficiently following all procedures.
6. Work extended hours without direct supervision.
7. Maintain effective communication during snow events and report to supervisors.
8. Accurately document site service records, including times, weather, and pictures.
9. Report obstacles and submit documentation promptly after shifts.
10. Inspect, clean, lubricate, and refill equipment as needed.
11. Operate backhoes, tractors, front-end loaders, and trucks as required.
12. Maintain equipment in clean and working condition.
13. Promote safety and environmental practices through routine inspections and maintenance.
14. Communicate politely with customers.
15. Hold a valid driver’s license with a clean record.
16. Perform other duties as assigned.

Education
High school diploma or equivalent required. Additional licenses, clean driving record, and reliability clearance are assets.
Work Experience
Minimum 2 years of work experience, with at least 1 year related to the role.

Physical Demands & Work Environment
Long hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, work outside in various weather conditions, and handle noise and chemicals.
Compensation & Benefits
$28.00 - $32.00/hour, extended healthcare, life insurance, dental & vision, paid vacations & holidays, disability, and AD&D.
