We are seeking an experienced Bid Manager and Writer to take full ownership of our end to end bid process. This is a central, high impact role responsible for coordinating complex tenders, managing cross functional contributors, and producing high quality, compliant and compelling submissions.
Reporting to the Business Development Director, you will work closely with senior leaders, clinical teams and operational colleagues to ensure bids are well structured, well governed and delivered to a consistently high standard.
Job Opportunity
The Bid Manager and Writer will manage and coordinate the full bid lifecycle, from opportunity identification through to submission and post bid review.
Core responsibilities include:
• Leading the planning, coordination and delivery of bids from initial opportunity through to submission and lessons learned
• Owning all aspects of bid project management, ensuring bids are delivered on time and to a high standard
• Managing bid kick off meetings, solutioning workshops, challenge sessions and structured review stages
• Coordinating and motivating matrix teams, ensuring clarity of roles, responsibilities and deadlines
• Maintaining momentum and accountability across multiple contributors
The role will also take full ownership of bid communication and workflow management, including:
• Acting as the single point of contact for all bid related communications
• Logging, managing and disseminating Clarification Questions accurately and promptly
• Managing electronic tender portals and overseeing submissions
• Maintaining a live bid diary and tracking milestones throughout the bid lifecycle
• Proactively managing risks, blockers and competing priorities, escalating issues to the Business Development Director where required
Content development and quality assurance are central to the role. You will:
• Draft, edit and refine high quality written bid responses that are persuasive, accurate and tailored to commissioner and specification requirements
• Manage and coordinate contributions from subject matter experts and other writers
• Ensure all responses undergo structured review cycles
• Incorporate feedback to strengthen clarity, compliance and overall impact
• Maintain a strong focus on detail, evaluation criteria and scoring methodology
You will also play a key role in continuous improvement by:
• Capturing lessons learned following submissions
• Contributing to the development of bid tools, templates and a bid library
• Supporting the evolution of best practice bid processes
• Conducting regular opportunity sweeps of tender portals, including Find a Tender, to identify and escalate potential opportunities
The role will also undertake other duties commensurate with the position and support wider business needs where required.

• Strong attention to detail and a clear understanding of compliance and procurement requirements
• Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple competing priorities
• Flexibility to adapt working hours and patterns during periods of high bid activity
Desirable
• Experience within healthcare, public sector or similarly regulated environments
• Familiarity with procurement portals and electronic submission processes
• Understanding of commissioning requirements and evaluation methodologies
