The PAT (Process Analytical Technology) & Data Analytics Manager manages a cross functional team that works collaboratively with the platform and product engineering groups to implement and maintain real time process monitoring, informatics and modelling on Pharmaceutical Supply Chain (PSC) production and R&D Oral and Solid Dose (OSD) process platforms.
The role is a key component for the long-term strategy for the application of PAT to platforms at the Ware PSC (commercial production) site and to all platforms at the Ware R&D site.
Job Purpose:
Reporting into the division’s Director (Oral Solid Dose MSAT), you will own and provide technical expertise for PAT and Modelling of production data with a One-Pharma team working in the R&D and manufacturing sites.
Key elements of the role include:
* Managing the development of skills within a high performing team of PAT Engineers to successfully implement PAT for new and commercial products.
* Managing the technical transfer of PAT (equipment, method, model & data infrastructure requirements) from R&D to the Ware manufacturing site.
* Managing the lifecycle (management) of PAT (equipment, method, model and data infrastructure requirements) at the Ware campus.
* Working closely with R&D to align between manufacturing & R&D for current and future PAT applications, as well as collaborate with the wider PE&A (Process Engineering & Analytical) group to realize the full value of PAT and MSPM (Multivariant Statistical Process Monitoring) outputs.
* You will seek opportunities for interventions on platforms to positively impact quality metrics in the OSD production streams (using a full range of analytical and modelling tools).
You will be Fully aware and capable in the regulatory guidelines applicable to the implementation of PAT within a manufacturing environment. Links/interactions with the regulatory authorities and other Pharmaceutical companies (to ensure that updates/new guidelines are fit for implementation across the Ware Campus) would be highly advantageous.
About You:
This role would suit a strong scientific manager capable of working in a cross-functional campus. Having a knowledge of PAT application in early lifecycle and understanding the regulatory environment for application of PAT is important. You will also have capability in data modelling and informatics with a drive to develop the application for future PAT and MSPM outputs.
About Ware Campus:
Medicines at Ware are presented as either Respiratory devices or in Oral Solid Dose (OSD) form. The campus holds a unique position in our network as the only site responsible for launching the company’s pipeline of new medicines in these dose forms, many of which are lifesaving medicines with development and commercial production functions co-located in one campus. The recent announcement of a new manufacturing facility located within the Ware Pharm Supply Chain (PSC) campus is an exciting new chapter that will support the delivery of GSKs future product portfolio.

Basic Qualifications:
* Demonstrable capability to manage teams (both line and matrix) in a Technical role.
* Good understanding of informatics and application of digital tools (to realise business benefits).
* Knowledge and understanding of data and process measurement for product dose forms and their manufacturing processes (e.g. Multivariate Statistical Process Monitoring models).
