About The Role
This role sits at the heart of our IT function, acting as the senior technical escalation point while also supporting future‑focused projects across the business. You’ll take ownership of complex technical issues, help modernise our infrastructure, and remove day‑to‑day operational pressure from the System Administrator, enabling greater focus on security‑driven initiatives. You’ll remain close enough to the frontline to support the team when needed, while focusing your time on higher‑value engineering, platform improvement, and project delivery.
What you’ll be doing
* Act as the senior escalation point for complex infrastructure, server, and network issues.
* Manage and improve our core IT estate, including virtualised environments.
* Support device and user management through Microsoft Intune and Microsoft 365.
* Maintain robust backup and recovery using Veeam.
* Contribute to security hardening, patching, and system resilience activities.
* Support and deliver future IT projects and technology upgrades.
* Share knowledge and provide technical guidance across the IT support team.
Who We’re Looking For
This role is suited to an experienced infrastructure‑focused IT professional who enjoys variety, responsibility, and practical problem‑solving.
* Experienced as a level 3 or senior IT support role.
* Recognised IT qualification or certification (e.g., Microsoft, CompTIA, Cisco, VMware) or equivalent demonstrable experience.
* Advanced knowledge of Windows Server, Windows 10/11, Microsoft 365, and Azure Active Directory.
* Hands‑on experience with endpoint management tools, ideally Microsoft Intune.
* Experience with virtualisation platforms such as VMware and/or Hyper‑V.
* Proven experience with backup and recovery solutions, ideally Veeam.
* Solid understanding of networking fundamentals and server services.
* Comfortable supporting colleagues hands‑on when required, without being purely desk‑side focused.
* Ability to travel to site.
