The Governors of Gosforth Park First School wish to appoint a part-time Administrative Assistant Level 3 from 1st September 2025 to 17th July 2026. This post is initially a fixed-term contract.
Working hours:
Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday 8:30 – 4:00 (21 hours per week)

We have a fabulous opportunity for an Administrative Assistant to join our team.
This role is ideal for someone who is a team player, has a positive attitude, and understands the importance of providing effective admin support in a fast-paced school office environment. The job involves a busy and varied workload with the aim of supporting children, parents, and staff throughout the school day.
The position requires good time management skills, the ability to multitask, handle interruptions, adapt to change, and solve problems independently. Confidentiality is paramount.
Responsibilities include reception duties, being the first point of contact for visitors, filing, reprographics, orders, pupil information management, parental contact, admin support for leadership team members, and supporting children and staff during the school day. Ideally, candidates will have experience working in a school office.
Our ideal candidate will:
* Have experience working in a busy office environment with an administrative focus
* Use effective communication skills, and be warm, friendly, and empathetic
* Be flexible and work in partnership with staff, pupils, parents, and governors
* Have relevant experience with IT software packages and systems (e.g., SIMS, ParentPay)
* Undertake general financial admin, such as processing orders and invoices
Gosforth Park First School is strongly committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. The successful applicant will be required to obtain an Enhanced Certificate of Disclosure from the Disclosure and Barring Service and pass other recruitment checks.
As this post involves working with children, vulnerable adults, or handling sensitive information, written references will be obtained and reviewed before the final selection. Additionally, an online search may be conducted as part of due diligence on shortlisted candidates.
