About The Role

Shape the Future of Nuclear Decommissioning with NRS

Do you thrive on fault finding, problem solving and keeping complex control and instrumentation systems operating safely and efficiently? If you have hands‑on experience maintaining and repairing Electrical equipment in a demanding industrial environment, this could be the opportunity you've been looking for.

The Opportunity

At Nuclear Restoration Services (NRS), we're playing a critical role in the safe and efficient decommissioning of Hinkley Point A Nuclear Power Station. We're expanding our onsite maintenance capability and are now seeking a Senior Maintenance Technician ( Electrical) to join our experienced and collaborative team.

This is a varied and technically challenging role where your expertise will directly support the delivery of safe, compliant and high‑quality maintenance across a wide range of plant systems including retrieval, conditioning, processing and storage facilities.

What You'll Be Doing

As a Senior Maintenance Technician, you'll be a key member of the Maintenance Team, delivering both preventative and corrective maintenance activities to a high standard. Your responsibilities will include:

Carrying out routine preventative maintenance, breakdown investigations, and repairs on electrical systems.
Maintaining, fault finding, and repairing a wide range of equipment including batteries, distribution, lighting, control systems, motor control systems, cranes, elevators, electrical wiring installation
Investigating plant faults, identifying root causes, and proposing robust engineering solutions—supported by clear written reports where required.
Engineering work order cards (work instructions) and preparing supporting risk assessments.
Analysing maintenance data and, where appropriate, recommending additional work such as condition monitoring.
Working in full compliance with Site Licence requirements, statutory regulations, company procedures, and safety rules.

Why work for us?

Joining the NRS opens huge possibilities. Helping to manage the UK civil nuclear legacy and make a real national impact, you will be able to access top training, development and continuous learning. All this whilst:

Enjoying a four-day working week (Mon-Thurs) with flexible options,
Onsite parking and canteen facilities.
Up to 13.5% employer pension contribution.
A bonus scheme and various other flexible benefits.

At NRS, you'll be part of work that truly matters—helping to reduce risk and create a safer legacy at one of the UK's former nuclear sites. You'll join a professional, supportive team in an environment that values safety, technical excellence, and continuous improvement.

If you're looking for a role where your Electrical expertise will make a real impact, we'd love to hear from you.

This is your chance to be part of something bigger, where your skills contribute to national progress and your career thrives.

What We're Looking For

We're keen to hear from motivated and safety‑focused Electrical professionals who bring solid technical skills and a proactive approach. You'll have:

Proven experience in a practising Electrical maintenance role within an industrial environment.
An NQF Level 3 qualification (or equivalent) in an Electrical related discipline.
Qualified to IET Wiring Regulations – 18th Edition (BS7671)
