Position: Ofsted Registered Manager - Children’s Home Location: Nottingham Working hours: 37 hours in the home Salary: 50k per Anum Job Summary As the Registered Children’s Home Manager, you will hold a role encompassing leadership in regulatory compliance and management oversight of the services. You will be responsible for ensuring the well-being, safety, and development of children and young people residing in our residential care settings. Responsible for managing staff, developing individualised care plans and promoting a safe and nurturing environment where children and flourish and progress, and ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements. Key Responsibilities Leadership and Management: Oversee the day-to-day operations of the children’s homes, ensuring that high-quality care is consistently provided that is safe, supportive, in a caring environment for the children and young people Lead, motivate, and support a team of care staff, promoting a positive and nurturing environment Ensure staff have clear objectives and deliver against them, managing performance and development Manage the recruitment, induction, and ongoing training of staff in line with organisational and regulatory standards Oversee the day-to-day operations of the residential homes, including staffing, scheduling, resource allocation, and facility management Identify areas for improvement & implement changes where necessary Compliance and Safeguarding: Ensure the homes operate in full compliance with legislative requirements, including the Children’s Homes Regulations and the Quality Standards 2015, the Children Act 1989, the Care Standards Act 2000, and associated regulations Maintain up-to-date knowledge of current UK regulations and best practices in residential children’s care Develop and implement policies and procedures in line with best practices in children’s residential care Oversee safeguarding and child protection protocols, ensuring all concerns are promptly addressed and reported Care Planning and Support: Develop and implement personalized care plans that meet the emotional, physical, and educational needs of each child Work closely with families, and external agencies to support children’s progress, development and meet their holistic needs Promote children’s independence, safety, and emotional well-being, ensuring their views are listened and responded to Quality Assurance: Conduct regular audits, assist regulation 44 visits and act upon recommendations made. Review care provisions and drive-up standards and improvements Lead on inspections and any other external reviews Maintain accurate records and reports in line with regulatory requirements Develop and implement quality assurance processes and systems to assess and enhance the quality of care Review and evaluate the effectiveness of services, care plans, policies & procedures to ensure they align with best practices and regulatory requirements Training and Development: Identify training needs f employees, develop and deliver training programs to enhance the skills, knowledge and personal/ professional development Family and Stakeholder Communication: Maintain regular cmmunication with families or guardians, keeping them informed of progress and any significant developments Cllaborate with external agencies, including local authorities Cnduct referral reviews to ensure that we are providing the best possible care Qualifications and Experience Level 5 Diploma in Leadership &Management for Residential Childcare (or equivalent), or proven experience of Deputy Manager Proven experience managing a children’s residential care home Comprehensive knowledge of child protection, safeguarding, and relevant legislation Experience working with vulnerable children and young people Strong leadership and management skills UK driving license Desirable: Understanding of trauma-informed care and therapeutic approaches in mental health and child welfare Knowledge of research informed practices to meet children and young peoples’ individual needs Skills and Personal Attributes Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work under pressure and handle challenging situations Strong organisational and time-management skills Ability to prioritise workload Benefits Opportunity to make a significant impact to the lives of children and young people Ongoing professional development and training opportunities Supportive and collaborative working environment Opportunity to grow and progress with the company INDHP
