Our Children’s and Young Person Emergency Department has recently expanded. We have upgraded facilities and created more emergency cubicles, and therefore we are looking to recruit a professional and enthusiastic Clinical Support Worker. We look after children from birth to 16 years in this amazing new environment which is ideal for providing a first‑class service.
The department has 1 resuscitation bed and 15 major treatment cubicles, 3 of which are classed as high‑dependency cubicles. We also have a dedicated mental health assessment room. We are co‑located with an Urgent Care Treatment Centre that deals with minor injuries and illnesses; between the UCC and both Adult Emergency and CYPED departments we attend to around 14,000 patients each month. There are currently 30 staff in the paediatric department. We have a great team of Health Care Assistants, Junior and Senior Registered Nurses and Paediatric Nurse Practitioners, and we also have strong links with many multidisciplinary teams to enhance the care we can provide our children and their families.
Responsibilities
The Clinical Support Worker (CSW) will have duties such as recording observations, ECG, blood‑taking, nutrition and hydration needs, supporting senior colleagues, and supporting children and families during attendance.
