About HMC
HMC is seeking an organised, proactive and people‑focused Membership Coordinator to play a key role in supporting a range of member services including accrediting and supporting new Heads and schools across the UK and around the world. This is a varied and rewarding role at the heart of HMC’s member services, supporting new and existing members, coordinating professional support and networking opportunities, and helping to deliver a high standard of service to some of the world’s leading independent schools.
What You Will Be Doing
* Supporting Members – day‑to‑day management of the application and induction process for new Heads and schools in the UK and internationally.
* Membership Programmes & Professional Support – administering HMC’s mentoring, appraisal and coaching programmes, plus other professional support and networking opportunities for Heads.
* Events & Committees – planning, coordinating and supporting a range of online and face‑to‑face events, committee meetings and networking sessions.
* Member Research & Engagement – supporting member research, surveys and engagement activity, and coordinating work with leaving Heads and the HMC Alumni Group.
* Administration & PA Support – providing PA support to the Deputy CEO, and administrative support to the Head of Member Services and Head of International Member Services, including committee administration, agenda preparation, papers and minutes.
* Collaboration & Communication – working closely with colleagues across HMC to support marketing and communications activity for Member Services and to ensure a consistently high standard of customer service.
* Additional Responsibilities – attending events (mostly online, with occasional face‑to‑face attendance), providing cover for colleagues as required, and supporting budget management for relevant areas of work.
About You
You will be highly organised, professional and confident working independently, while also enjoying being part of a small, supportive team.
Essential Requirements
* Experience in an administrative role, with an understanding of PA responsibilities.
* Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage a varied workload and meet deadlines.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills.
* Excellent IT skills, including Microsoft Office.
* High attention to detail and accuracy.
* A proactive, flexible and ‘can do’ approach.
* Strong commitment to excellent customer service.
* Ability to build positive relationships with colleagues and stakeholders.
* Alignment with the values, ethos and inclusive culture of HMC.
* Willingness to undertake occasional UK travel and overnight stays.
Desirable
* Experience of working in education and/or delivering events.
* Experience of working autonomously and using initiative to prioritise work.
