What will the role look like?
The CI Engineer will be responsible for delivering operational standards in their area, responsible for reduction of unplanned downtime and increased line efficiency through systematic CI work. The Area Technician will also enable and coach Operators on technical standards. The candidate will have knowledge of process control systems and have a strong understanding of milk processing, packing and its related processes and technology.
The successful candidate will have a number of key responsibilities to ensure they have a significant impact on the success of the department.
Key responsibilities include:
9. Ensures that their department complies with Arla’s standards in terms of Food Safety, H&S, Environment and carry’s out internal process confirmation to ensure compliance.
10. Leads weekly CI meeting related to unplanned stops and top losses applying structured LEAN problem solving tools and PDCA.
11. Actively work with the teams on CI improvement activities. Ensures improvement activities are quantified and reflected in improvement benefits trackers.
12. Owns and tracks data for their area and actioning deviations including preventative maintenance.
13. Owns Operator Asset Care standards and competence development for teams.
14. Defines, process confirms and improves operational standards within area.
15. Trains and coaches line teams to ensure performance according to operational standards.
16. Ensures a cost efficient and stable production process with emphasis on SIC and KPIs.
17. Participate in Daily Direction Setting meeting in order to drive performance.
18. Support project implementation, technology and process upgrades.
19. Build a good working relationship with multiple internal and external functions
The Core team gets support from the all site functions including Planning, Maintenance & Engineering, QEHS and Operational Support for daily operations and improvement activities.
Background/experience
The successful candidate must be an experienced engineer with electrical and mechanical knowledge. Automation and/or multi- skilled engineering experience would be very desirable.
We are also looking for an individual who has;
20. Previous experience within a manufacturing environment
21. Knowledge of TPM, reliability & process improvement processes
22. Experience in Lean/Six Sigma/KAIZEN
23. Excellent communication and people skills
24. High levels of enthusiasm and a positive attitude to change & problem solving
