About Us: 3C Shared Services Building Control is a dynamic partnership between three local authorities: Huntingdonshire District Council, South Cambridgeshire District Council, and Cambridge City Council. Together, we deliver resilient, high-quality building control services across a diverse region.
About You: We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic professional who shares our passion for excellence in building control.
Responsibilities
* Manage a diverse and exciting portfolio of construction projects, ranging from heritage sites to cutting-edge developments.
* Ensure compliance with building regulations and statutory requirements, working with homeowners, developers, architects, and contractors.
* Carry out inspections and assessments across various stages of construction, with a focus on safety, energy efficiency, and sustainability.
* Build strong relationships with stakeholders, becoming a trusted partner in achieving their project goals while safeguarding public interest.
* Play a key role in mentoring junior staff and contributing to team-wide improvements and innovation.
About You / Qualifications
* Registration with the Building Safety Regulator as a Building Inspector Class 2.
* Strong knowledge of building regulations, including fire safety, accessibility, and energy performance.
* Proficiency in examining Principal Designers' plans, conducting site inspections, compiling detailed reports, and maintaining accurate records.
* A proven ability to manage projects and deliver outstanding customer service.
* Competency to work independently.
* Excellent communication, problem-solving, and negotiation skills.
* A full UK driving license and access to a vehicle are essential for this role, as you will be required to travel across our partnership area.
