Overview
Hours: 1 hour in the morning term time only.
Rate of pay: from age related national minimum wage to £12.90 per hour
Area: South Shields
Holidays: 5.6 weeks per annum (pro rata)
Job Summary
We are urgently looking for a female personal assistant to help with two children, a 4-year-old boy and a 5-year-old girl. Both are nonverbal and cannot follow direction. This role is to help mum with getting the children ready, washed and fed in the morning; you would work with one child and mum would work with the other.
Responsibilities
* Assist with morning routine for both children, including getting them ready, washed and fed.
* Provide any required personal care (nappy pads) as part of the morning routine.
* Support and monitor the wellbeing of the children, following care plans as needed.
Child Details
* Boy (4): Level 3 Autism, epilepsy with tonic seizures, early developmental impairment, sensory processing issues, ADHD and PICA (pica with paper, sand, wood and poo). He can be violent at times (punching, kicking) and can be triggered by touch and sound. Personal care is required and he uses nappies/pads.
* Girl (5): Mobility issues; uses a wheelchair; not violent but frightened by males. She has PACA and Level 3 Autism. Personal care is required and she uses nappies/pads.
Requirements
* There is a genuine occupational requirement for the holder of this post to be female in accordance with the Health and Social Care Act 2008 (Regulated Activities) Regulations 2014 and Equality Act 2010 schedule 9 paragraphs 1 – 4.
* At the start of employment, the successful candidate must have permission to work in the U.K.
