Commercial Trading Underwriter - Salary between £40,000 and £60,000
We currently have an opportunity for an experienced Commercial Trading Underwriter to join our UK-wide Delegated Authority/Schemes team.
As an Underwriter in this team, you will be responsible for servicing brokers with delegated authority for specific commercial insurance schemes. This role involves managing business relationships and being the main contact for referrals outside the broker’s delegated authority.
Working closely with brokers and customers to understand their needs, using data and insights to improve performance and profitability. Collaborating with brokers to enhance efficiencies and support growth.
This role suits an experienced Underwriter from a broker or insurer background who is passionate about developing their career and nurturing relationships for mutual benefit.
A bit about the job:
* Providing technical referral support for brokers and lower license holders, aligned with our Underwriting Strategy and customer/broker value
* Monitoring overall Delegated Authority Schemes performance and contributing to Aviva’s strategy
* Understanding regulatory requirements related to Delegation of Underwriting authority
* Ensuring implementation of changes to Delegated Authority Schemes, including documentation, UW Guide, pricing, and wordings
* Identifying profitable development areas within individual Schemes
Skills and experience we’re looking for:
* Proven experience in Commercial Motor and/or Commercial Property & Liability underwriting
* Strong relationship management skills
* Ability to handle complex risks and technical referrals, supporting and mentoring junior team members
* Skills to analyse risks, communicate, and present effectively to brokers and customers
* Confidence to challenge Broker partners to achieve win-win outcomes
