Additional Learning Support Officer
We are recruiting Additional Learning Support Officers to join our Centre of Excellence SEND (Full time or part time contracts available).
Salary: £24,484 - £25,674 per annum, pro rata dependent on contract type FTE.
The Role
You will provide a full range of support for students with complex needs, enabling them to access the full College provision.
* Provide one-to-one support to students with additional learning needs, including those with disabilities, learning difficulties, or special educational needs.
* Collaborate with teaching staff to create inclusive learning environments and adapt teaching materials as necessary.
* Assist in the preparation of materials, equipment and assistive technology.
* Administer medication and carry out routines and techniques appropriate to stated needs of the individual.
* Promote inclusive learning experiences throughout the College.
* Develop ways of assisting students to communicate effectively and appropriately to ensure their views are able to be understood.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide Additional Learning Support to students with SEND across the whole range of college provision, including work placements, enrichment activities and external visits.
* Assist in the preparation of materials, equipment and assistive technology.
* Support students' welfare and social well-being in College time.
* Support students with access to facilities within the College, work placements and external visits.
To be successful as an Additional Learning Support Officer, you will need:
* Previous experience of working in a similar role or in a relevant educational or caring setting would be an advantage but not essential.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for this role, with the ability to build rapport and adapt communication styles to suit individual needs.
* A demonstrated commitment to the active promotion of equality of opportunity.
* A minimum of Level 2 English and Maths (minimum grade 4/C at GCSE).
