Located in our Machine Shop at NOV Process and Flow Control, Montrose, and reporting to the Production Manager, you will be responsible for programming and the operation of CNC Machine
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES :
1. Manufacture components to standards/procedures set out by NOV & NOV’s customers
2. Ensure that all defects to materials, components or equipment are reported to the Production Manager as required by company procedures
3. Liaise with the Production Manager on any customer, project or other issues arising
4. Report any Environmental and Health & Safety issues that arise
5. Train apprentices
6. Ensure all relevant drawings, procedures and instructions are to the latest revision level, prior to any work commencing
7. Ensure that all gauges, gauge procedures are correct and current prior to use
8. Aid Project Engineers in the selection of tooling and capital equipment
9. Be involved in Environmental and Health & Safety issues
10. Aid in the creation of risk assessments as and when required
11. Aid in the proposal and introduction of new machining techniques/machines to improve productivity or safety
12. Ensure personal compliance with all HSE Legislation and HSE Company Policy
13. Support other departments and carry out other duties as and when business requirements dictate as may be reasonably expected by Line Manager
QUALIFICATIONS:
14. Engineering Apprenticeship or equivalent work experience on CNC Machine
EXPERIENCE:
15. Experience of Premium Threading
16. Ability to read and understand Engineering drawings/specifications etc.
17. practical experience on CNC or Manual machines
SKILLS, TRAINING & SPECIALIST KNOWLEDGE:
18. Use of CNC Machine Tools
19. Programming of CNC Machine Tools
20. Ability to use Inspection equipment and specialized premium thread gauges
21. Full understanding of various methods of manufacture
22. Skills in planning methods of machining
23. Ability to use lifting equipment effectively
24. Understanding of Environment and Health & Safety
25. Competent level of understanding in: Engineering drawings Engineering terminologies Machine Tool Tooling
