Job Summary
Experienced Biomedical Scientist – band 5 or band 6 – to work in a fully equipped, UKAS accredited, IBMS registered diagnostic laboratory at The Royal Bournemouth Hospital.
Key Responsibilities
* Perform all aspects of diagnostic bacteriology, parasitology, mycology, serology and molecular virology.
* Participate in weekend and extended working day rota.
* Supervise, train and mentor Biomedical Support Workers and trainee Biomedical Scientists.
* Provide training and support to colleagues across all sections of the department.
Qualifications
* Current HCPC registration.
* Previous experience working in an NHS Microbiology laboratory.
* Capability to work independently across all laboratory areas.
Work Hours
37.5 hours per week, including weekend and evening rota participation.
