Robert Walters Group: Public Sector Division - Financial Controller - Birmingham - £62,000 per annum Role: Financial Controller Duration: Permanent Salary: Up to £62,000 per annum Working Pattern: 2 days in Birmingham office and 3 days from home Qualification of the Financial Controller: Candidates must be ACA, ACCA, CIMA or CIPFA qualified Desirable Experience of the Financial Controller: It is highly desirable that candidates have SORP knowledge for this position along with Microsoft Dynamics 365 experience Duties of the Financial Controller: Ensure that financial statements adhere to regulatory standards and accurately reflect the company's financial health. Manage the annual statutory reporting and work with the auditors in compliance with the current reporting standards Preparation of the VAT returns including partial exemptions calculations and oversee systems enhancements to facilitate digital tax regulations Under the direction of the head of finance support projects to implement new, and update existing systems for the processing of financial and non-financial transactions Oversee the restricted funds reporting, working with the Management Accountant to ensure the proper reporting of grants and projects Ad hoc finance projects To ensure adherence to company policies, legal requirements, and industry standards Manage Accounts Receivable Administrator and the cash book Research technical accounting issues for compliance Responsible for the year-end close process Ensure quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls Additional controller duties as necessary If you are interested in this position, then please forward your CV to applications will be contacted in order of receipt.
