Registered Manager – Children’s Residential Home Location: East Midlands (Leicestershire / Northamptonshire / Derbyshire) Salary: Competitive (dependent on experience) Hours: Full-time, Monday–Friday with on-call duties About the Company: A leading health and social care provider with 11 homes across the UK, all rated Good or Outstanding by Ofsted. The organisation has a strong family values-driven ethos and is dedicated to providing safe, nurturing homes for young people aged 12–17 with emotional and behavioural difficulties. Their child-centred approach focuses on emotional wellbeing, personal growth, and creating positive futures through therapeutic care and a supportive environment. About the Role: We are seeking an experienced and resilient Registered Manager to lead a children’s residential home. You will oversee the setup, compliance, and day-to-day running of the home, ensuring the highest standards of care in line with the Children’s Homes (England) Regulations 2015. This is a key leadership role, responsible for safeguarding, staff development, and partnership working with external agencies. You will create a safe, supportive environment where young people can thrive. Key Responsibilities · Fulfil all duties of the Registered Manager role, ensuring compliance with Ofsted and statutory regulations. · Lead the home’s operations, including care planning, safeguarding, health & safety, and quality standards. · Recruit, supervise, and develop a motivated staff team, promoting a positive and professional culture. · Ensure care plans reflect each child’s social, emotional, educational, cultural, and therapeutic needs. · Act as Designated Safeguarding Lead, ensuring effective safeguarding and protection for all young people. · Manage resources, budgets, and staffing levels effectively to maintain a safe and nurturing environment. · Build strong partnerships with families, local authorities, education providers, and healthcare professionals. Person Specification Requirements · Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Residential Childcare (or equivalent). · Minimum 5 years’ residential childcare experience, with 2 years in a management role. · Strong knowledge of safeguarding, regulations, and Ofsted frameworks. · Proven ability to lead, motivate, and develop staff teams. · Excellent organisational, communication, and decision-making skills. · Resilience, emotional intelligence, and commitment to child-centred care
