As a Bank Receptionist based at our hospital in York, you will be responsible for managing the front reception desk on an ad hoc basis. You will play a crucial role in ensuring a seamless and efficient process for patients, key stakeholders, external visitors and colleagues as they arrive, providing them with a welcoming and friendly experience In addition to handling reception duties, this role also offers the opportunity to provide valuable administrative support to the administration team. The position is bank which is well suited for someone who is flexible and willing to take on available hours as needed. This position provides an excellent opportunity to contribute to the smooth operation of our hospital and make a positive impact on the overall patient experience.
Main duties of the job
* Meeting and greeting patient, visitors, consultants and staff at reception, and acting as the main point of contact for queries;
* Taking telephone calls, answering patient queries and taking messages;
* Updating systems as and when required
* Maintaining an organised, tidy and well-stocked reception area;
* Scanning of relevant documentation onto the system, general housekeeping and filing;
* Responding to queries and questions through a shared inbox

Person Specification
Experience
* Experience of dealing with colleagues, external visitors and members of the public
* Experience of working in a similar position either within a hospital, clinic or hospitality environment
Additional Requirements
* Able to pick up shifts on an ad hoc basis, including at short notice due to annual leave, sickness or requirement for some weekend working
