Nottingham – Onsite
We are recruiting a 2nd Line IT Support Engineer to support an MSP client. This is an Inside IR35 contract, primarily onsite, providing hands-on technical support.
This role is ideal for a proactive, customer-focused engineer who enjoys troubleshooting, working closely with users, and supporting core IT systems in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
* Provide 2nd line technical support to end users, both desk-side and remotely
* Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and network issues
* Support and maintain Windows Server environments, including routine checks and basic administration
* Manage and respond to incidents, service requests, and changes via ServiceNow
* Troubleshoot issues related to Active Directory, user accounts, permissions, and group policies
* Install, configure, and support desktop and laptop devices, peripherals, and printers
* Assist with server, storage, and infrastructure support where required
* Perform routine maintenance tasks, updates, and system checks
* Escalate complex or unresolved issues to 3rd line engineers
* Ensure all work is documented clearly and completed in line with SLAs
* Provide clear communication and a professional level of customer service at all times
Qualifications
* Minimum 4 years of experience in a 2nd line IT support role
* Strong hands-on experience with Windows Server
* Good understanding of Microsoft technologies (Windows OS, Active Directory)
* 2+ years of experience working within an MSP environment
* Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
* Confident in communicating with users at all levels
* Ability to work onsite and take ownership of support issues
