About the Role
Cyber security is at the heart of everything we do at Enfield Council. As an Information Cyber Security Analyst, you will play a pivotal role in safeguarding our systems, data, and services against evolving threats. This is not just about monitoring alerts—it’s about being proactive, strategic, and hands‑on in protecting critical infrastructure that supports thousands of residents.
Responsibilities
* Day‑to‑day operational security of council systems, applications, and networks.
* Configure and manage security tools, conduct vulnerability assessments, and ensure compliance with recognised frameworks such as ISO27001, NIST, and Cyber Essentials.
* Threat detection and response using Microsoft Sentinel and Defender.
* Risk and compliance audits, risk assessments, and adherence to GDPR and data protection regulations.
* Manage privilege account systems, endpoint security solutions, and support cloud security in Azure and M365 environments.
* Research emerging technologies, test new security tools, and contribute to initiatives that strengthen our cyber resilience.
* Act as a trusted advisor to colleagues, providing guidance on security implications of business changes, and deputise for the Senior Security Manager when required.
Ideal Candidate
* Degree in Information Security or equivalent experience.
* Minimum 3 years in a cyber security role with relevant certifications (e.g., CEH, CCSP, CySA+).
* Strong knowledge of security frameworks, Microsoft security tools, and cloud environments.
* Excellent analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills.
* A proactive approach and passion for cyber security.
