We have 2 x 15.5 hours per week positions available within our busy switchboard team, working between 7am and 8pm. The roles include working weekends and bank holidays with enhanced pay. As this is a 24-hour service, night shifts from 8pm to 7am may be required. The post holder will work as part of a team, performing switchboard operations efficiently and courteously, with a focus on customer care.
The main responsibilities include acting as a first point of contact for Nottinghamshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust, providing general non-clinical advice, information, and out-of-hours support for doctors and support services. The role requires working evening hours on weekdays and weekends to meet the needs of a 24/7 public-facing service.
The successful candidate will work as a team member with a flexible approach, responsible for efficient switchboard duties, assisting patients, visitors, and staff. We seek self-motivated individuals capable of working independently and delivering excellent service to all users of the switchboard.

Key duties include operating the Trust switchboard, managing calls from staff, service users, and the public, often dealing with patients with complex needs, and performing administrative tasks related to the switchboard. The role also involves responding to emergency situations, such as fire alarms or intruder alerts, and supporting out-of-hours services, including on-call support for consultants, managers, and tradespeople.
Please note that this position does not meet the pay level required for a Skilled Worker visa. Applicants without NHS experience will typically be placed at the bottom of the pay band.
