Laing O'Rourke are recruiting for Wales's next big power infrastructure project and require a Section Engineer to work delivery works. We are looking for engineers that want to be part of the biggest infrastructure projects in the South Wales area. Operating in a self-delivery capacity you will have the opportunity to run your own work packages using in-house resource and the latest technology.

Scope of Work: Civil Engineering
Duties
* Overseeing site engineers
* Supporting the development of designs, planning and costing
* Drafting scopes of work with the Project Engineering team
* Provide accurate dimensional control, and check that established by others, to enable the works to be constructed to the required tolerances as defined by the Contract / design documents. Carry out surveys for design, as-built and payment purposes.
* Assist site foremen and managers in supervising site operatives and sub-contractors ensuring that the works are constructed in accordance with design drawings, specifications and standards as defined by the contract documents.
* Produce method statements and risk assessments to be approved by supervising engineers / managers and ensure that site operations take place in accordance with documents which detail safe systems of work, e.g. method statements, task sheets and procedures.

* Temporary works planning and supervision
* Knowledge of UK engineering standards and contract types
* Civil engineering knowledge in concrete
* Spatial Control
* Understanding of engineering designs
* TWC knowledge
* Site set-up knowledge
