We are seeking an energetic and motivated individual to join our team as a decontamination nurse, you will be responsible for the day to day running of the practice's decontamination room and assisting the dentists and dental nurses in collecting and delivering dental instruments, running daily test cycles through all our equipment and ensuring a smooth and high quality decontamination and sterilisation process is maintained. Your expertise and knowledge will be essential in ensuring the well-being of our patients.
Ideally suited to school leaver with progression onto a full dental nursing qualification available in future.
Duties
* Running daily checks on our sterilisation equipment
* Maintaining a clean and tidy working environment
* Taking charge of the daily sterilisation and decontamination of dental instruments and equipment.
* Assisting the clinicians and nurses by retrieving and delivering instruments to them throughout the day.
* Keeping up to date with current decontamination guidelines and legislation
* assisting reception as required (full training given)
Skills & Qualifications
* Full training provided. initially in house, regular updates and external courses provided once competent.
* Good organisational skills, ability to work within a small team is essential We are looking for a friendly and bubbly individual with an ability to maintain a high level of cleanliness and work to a consistently high standard, who is able to work closely within our team.
* keen eye for detail
* computer skills and good communication skills essential.
Requirements
* Hep B immunisations essential (provided by the practice to successful candidates)
Progression
Future enrollment onto dental nursing diploma apprenticeship
immediate start available.
Full time - Monday-Friday - 08:30-17:30
Please be aware that the decontamination room is located on the 2nd floor and that the position requires long periods of standing.
